Temple University New East Garage Wins MAPA Award!

Posted on

The Middle Atlantic Parking Association (MAPA) recently announced the winners of the 2016 MAPA Awards at its annual conference in Baltimore on October 19th. We are honored to have received a top award for the Temple University New East Garage project.

Awarded in the category of Innovative Parking and/or Transportation Program Implemented, The Temple University New East Garage includes 484 parking spaces for patients, visitors, emergency services, and employees. Our team designed this facility with a strong understanding of the unique issues associated with the design of a parking garage for an urban medical campus. The garage includes its own lobby with a direct connection to the Hospital lobby, creating a weatherproof and peaceful transition for patrons. The ground tier is designed with a separate entry/exit for emergency service ambulances and fire trucks. The garage design includes several sustainability features such as an underground storm water management system, PARCS system, lower maintenance plantings, and LED light fixtures.

Our firm served as the Structural Designer and the Parking Functional Designer and worked with Array Architects and Shoemaker Construction Co on this innovative project. We are thrilled to have been recognized by MAPA with this honor!
