To maximize the use of shared-parking, which types of land use combinations are best?

Posted on

The best candidates for implementing shared-parking opportunities are developments that
utilize the parking resources at differing times of the day, thereby significantly reducing the amount of parking each user group requires.

For instance, parking assets utilized by commuters and office workers during the day can be used by residents, event attendees, and retail employees and patrons during the evening and on weekends. This efficient utilization can have a significant impact on the parking demand in a development, drastically reducing the amount of parking required, and the resulting land uses and costs which can then be utilized for other uses in the future.
